He is famous for the novel Jurassic Park, from which the hit movie was based. His last novel will be published posthumously.
His death is noteworthy for me because Crichton is, as of now, one of the few authors whose work I closely follow.

It's a long read, but very well written.

It is a day after Christmas, and yet again the season was not felt. Decors are sparse, and the spirit and cheer just as rare.

Has commercialization finally killed it? If so, then who is to blame? But more importantly, who should revive it?

Perhaps if we came back to spelling it correctly, taking the extra effort to not write "XMas", and go back to "Christmas", we'll remember what it means.

What comes to mind, though, was the opening scene of the planet Krypton exploding, reminding me of an old Star Wars joke:

Oh well.

The theatrical cut is too short to properly tell a story-based action movie. Parts of the feature felt like an extended trailer, with bits and snippets thrown all around to show off their SFX skills.

And strange how the good guys blatantly kill their enemies with no thought for the consequences. Early Years (1978-1986): I have no idea, as very little of my memory goes that far.

Elementary Years (1986-1992): No allowance.

Early High School (1992-1994): Few new comics from Filbar's.

Late High School (1994-1996): No opponents at Sega or Super Nintendo games.

University Years (1996-2001): End of regular classes. My PC's power supply blew up.

Well, not exactly blew up. It died with a pop. And took my motherboard with it.

Having no PC for five days made me realize my room is an incredibly boring place.

I dread the fact that I'm still not done fixing the PC.

I am full of hate. And dread. With a pinch of boredom as well.

Yep, I'm a computer junkie. Help.
